Bank offers versus coupon codes: which saves more?

Deal Desk
Bank offers and coupon codes often look interchangeable, but they behave differently at checkout and that changes which one is worth more to you. A coupon code is usually a fixed percentage or amount off your basket, and it applies before payment method offers are calculated. A bank offer is a discount tied to how you pay, and it frequently caps its saving at a set rupee amount rather than scaling with your basket. On a small basket, the coupon typically wins because a percentage discount of a small number is still applied in full. On a large basket, the bank offer's flat cap can underperform, while a percentage code keeps paying out — but only if the code does not exclude the items you are buying. The reliable approach is to work out the capped saving first, then apply the code, and read whether the terms allow both. Some retailers explicitly forbid stacking; when they do, the code is usually the larger of the two on all but the smallest baskets.
