How to check whether a promo code is still valid
Deal Desk
A promo code can stop working for plenty of boring reasons: the end date passed, the offer moved to a different landing page, or the terms were narrowed after it was published.
Start with the dates on the coupon page itself — if the expiry has passed, no amount of retrying will help. Next, read the terms: minimum spends and excluded categories are the usual culprits when a code silently refuses.
Then check the scope of the offer. Store-wide codes sometimes exclude sale sections, and free-shipping codes often stop above a weight or price threshold. Finally, look at how recent other shoppers' reports are; a code confirmed a day ago is far more likely to work than one last confirmed a season ago.
If a code still fails after all four checks, the offer may have been pulled early. The coupon page is updated when that happens, and the code is removed rather than left to waste your time.
